Texas Weather.

There are many interesting things in this world, but one thing that never fails to interest me is the weather in Texas. You may have heard locals and visitors agree that the weather here is definitely bi-polar and I’m here to declare that statement to be entirely and brutally true.

Earlier this week I was able to walk out of my house wearing heels, a pencil skirt, a sheer tank-top and a blazer. I was a little more dressed up than usual because my 15-18 minute PR presentation was that day and one of our requirements was to dress in business-like attire. I did not take a picture of me in this outfit unfortunately, I was so overwhelmed with all the requirements needed for the presentation and thinking about how there will not only be the class watching, but a panel of 7 judges total watching and asking questions at the very end. My class normally runs for almost 3 hours and I am not kidding when I say this, but I was at school until almost 11 p.m. on that day because of all the presentations, questions and certificates being handed out. So no picture was taken of my outfit on this day.

Tuesday was cloudy. It was cloudy, but chilly in the morning and eventually that chilly wind turned into humidity. I needed to bundle up a little bit more on this day with some tights underneath my skirt, tall suede boots, and a long sleeve top. In the middle of the day however, I wanted nothing more than to take off my tights because I got too warm.

Wednesday it started to rain and the temperature dropped down to 41 degrees. Us Texans can withstand 100 degree weather and we are used to a much warmer environment, so when it drops below 50, we are FREEZING over here. I know this temperature is not a big deal to anyone who lives up north, but to the south, it’s a bit shocking to say the least. Thursday was even colder and still rainy so I was inspired to shoot a video on what to wear on a cold and rainy day. There are 3 outfits that I filmed and I hope to get this video up early next week.

Then, just when I thought that the weather couldn’t get more cold….

San Antonio, Texas got snow on Thursday night. This image is what my backyard looked like last night when it was snowing. Here I am at 21 years old and this was my very first time experiencing snow. My family was mesmerized by the beauty and the abnormality of this happening in a city deep in south Texas. I got to kick the snow, step in it, write my name in it, look up and stick my tongue out like a kid, and my mom even threw a snowball at my back while my dad recorded it. It was the best day ever this year.

20171207_192319

This image is one of our cars and seeing it covered in snow was pretty neat. I enjoyed seeing all the little kids and their families walk out of their homes in disbelief that it was snowing. No one saw this kind of surprise happening. The last time that it snowed in my hometown was in the 80’s, when MY parents were kids!

20171207_191506

This is how crazy Texas weather is. In one week, I got to wear various types of outfits because of the weather. I went from wearing outfits like the one of me shown below earlier this week, to stepping outside looking like Kenny from South Park!

thursday

Here we are on Friday and most of the snow is already gone. The sun was shining when I left my house around noon and there was warmth once more in the great outdoors. Now it is the evening and it is cold, but not as cold as it was 24 hours ago.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading about what the weather has been like here in Texas and although it was shockingly cold to a lot of us, I enjoyed it the best I could because I know that anyone living in California could’ve really used this snow and rain that we got. Especially with all the fires that are happening over there and destroying a lot of homes and tourist attractions. Please take a moment and send some positive vibes or prayers there way because these fires need to be put to an end already. While we are here  bundled up or living peacefully in our homes, someone else is going through something troubling because they may lose their homes. Firefighters have endlessly fought to protect their state and it would be appreciated if any of you who have read this far will take a moment to recognize the tragedy that is occurring and send the best wishes their way.

My Red Hair! Updated Facts About My Hair Care Routine And YouTube Channel!

I love fashion. I love the fact that it makes me feel so much more confident when I walk out knowing that I look good. Just being honest! I always loved being able to let others know about where I got my clothing or accessories from and even given fashion advice when I worked retail. Since dyeing my hair red, my outfits started to not be the only thing that people were asking about. Although my main focus is my fashion, I couldn’t ignore the fact that many people were asking about my hair color, so…..

I have a video on my YouTube channel so that you can see what my hair stylist does in order to achieve my red hair color! It is a process, and I am going to be honest about everything, so if you are interested, give it a watch! Below is a link to my YouTube channel so you can subscribe to me and turn on your notifications so that you are aware about my videos the second I put it on there!

In the meantime, here are some helpful tips on how to maintain red hair!

1. A Good Color-Treated Shampoo AND Conditioner 20171205_202844

Vibrant Sexy Hair is the shampoo and conditioner that I have been using and it is a keeper. I got mines at ULTA beauty and this shampoo keeps my hair color lasting the longest. Even my hairstylist told me that my roots were hardly showing! I get my hair touched up every 8 weeks. The product’s color is white and it smells like a field of roses!

2.  Refrain From Washing Your Hair Every Day.

I know, I know, I know. This may be gross to some of you, but I remember training my hair to not get so oily so fast for an entire year before coloring it red. If you’re like me, not washing your hair every day can seem like a deal breaker, but it’s beneficial to your hair to absorb natural oils that you need. Start by only washing your hair every other day. It does take getting used to, but luckily there is a great, inexpensive dry shampoo that works really well! The one that I currently use is Dove’s Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo.

20171205_204957

This dry shampoo is still my favorite! I have tried Panteen’s, Clean Freak, L’Oreal’s, and so many others, but none of them do the job like Dove’s for me!

3. Get A Good Hair Serum

20171205_205723.jpg

A lot of us who go to the salon know that when our hairstylist washes our hair, it looks so shiny and silky smooth…but when YOU wash it, it just doesn’t look the same! UGH! I know that when I started coloring my hair, my hair started losing its shine, but with a good hair serum, you can still get that salon shine and it will also help the  tips of your hair from breaking after all that styling. The one my hair stylist used on me during my salon visit is Mom’s Neurishing Oil Treatment. Another great one that you can find at the store is OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum. It smells and feels so great!

4. Allow Your Hair To Air Dry & Do Not Comb It Right Away.

This may be a little more personal for me, but I always air dry because I style my hair a lot and I like for my hair to have a break from that so I always wash my hair the night before about 3 hours before bedtime. I also do not comb my hair right away after getting out of the shower. I lightly soak up the excess water with my towel and wait until 2 hours after stepping out to comb it. I noticed that when my hair is still very wet, that brushing it also brushes off more of my hair dye. However, brushing my hair when damp to dry does not remove more of my hair dye.

5. Wear Hats!

Okay, so we know that another way to not have greasy looking hair without the help of dry shampoo, is also with the help of a hat. It’s getting closer to winter so I am walking out in my beanies and I am so excited! I love hats! Another reason to keep hats in mind is to protect your hair from fading. The sun’s rays can fade your red hair, so be mindful of this if you have red hair, but you’re going to be outdoors for a long period of time.

These are the most recent tips and products that I use so I hope you enjoyed reading about it. Without further ado, check out my YouTube channel and click on the first video on there which is all about my red hair!

My Thanksgiving Break and Thanksgiving Day Outfits

I have been enjoying my week off from school the best way that I can and at first, it was really hard to unwind. I am never one to procrastinate and to not think about priorities first, but I had to change my priorities from work and school and into some fun!

I’m not going to lie, I remember leaving school on Tuesday and eager to go spend some time with my girlfriends. I felt a million times better when I showed up to my friend’s house and saw my two best friends in the world relaxing and looking at some notes. These two have been in my life for a very long time and even though I couldn’t spend the other night with them due to my late PR class, I was ready to make it up to them by taking them to see Justice League.

We went to a nice theater and the first thing that caught my attention was the Gelato. I didn’t hesitate to try some samples and eventually have a serving in my possession. Oh, and we also got a large popcorn. Pretty sure I am going to see the photo that was taken by one of my friends on Facebook sooner or later!

The rest of the night was pretty laid-back. We went back to the house and watched Dancing With The Stars. I was fortunate enough to have tortellini for dinner and didn’t even have to worry about cooking anything! As much as I wanted to stay up later, I still had to report to work at 8 a.m. the next day. I was the loser who went to bed early and the loser who had to wake up by a little before 6 a.m., but I was thankful to at least have a job. My shift flew by and I soon found myself back with my friends to run some errands and prepare for our early Thanksgiving dinner.

While cooking, we watched the movie Annabelle….scariest movie I have ever seen man.

Fast-forward about 3 hours and we were finally eating! The rest of the night went by smoothly and after having so much fun, I realized that I had been way overdue for girl time. So there you have it, I am thankful for my best friends in the whole wide world. No matter how busy I get, I know where to find them when I really need them and they’ll never dismiss me.

Onto the outfits on Thanksgiving day…

thanksthanks1thanks2

This first outfit was for Thanksgiving lunch. Oh yeah, it’s not just dinner over here! Everything in this outfit is from Forever21, but the belt is from Target.

For Thanksgiving dinner, I got a little more elegant.

thanks3thanks4thanks5

Before anyone asks about the skirt, it’s actually a dress! This entire outfit is from Target. The necklace is from the store, The Impeccable Pig.

I hope you all liked these outfits and if you actually read this whole blog, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.  I want to just say a big thank you for all my followers on my blog because this morning I reached 70 followers!

I am thankful for everything in this life so far and not a day goes by without me taking to time to give all that I love some recognition. You guys are the best!

Give thanks and stay stylish!

It’s Good To Be Back!

Hello bloggers! I know I have been missing for a while, but I wanted to take the time to come back and say hi and let you guys know where I have been these past few days.

As many of you know, I am a college student and most of us just got done with taking midterms. I had my midterms this past week and focused a lot on getting some videos on YouTube out. Video editing is quite a process and requires a lot of time and focusing. I have also been having some laptop trouble. My laptop’s battery no longer charges! It stays at 0% when I have it plugged in. When it is not plugged, it will shut down automatically. The battery is attached to the motherboard so it’s not like I can replace the battery. I am in the market for searching for a new laptop! This is another reason why I have been inactive on here.

I want to come back with showing you guys some outfit ideas to wear this fall, and to also give you this week’s deed of the week! First with the outfits…

These were some of the outfits that I wore this past week and I hope you all liked them!

As for the deed of the week, I want you all to try to get a good night’s rest. This deed may seem simple, but it is actually very hard to do! Especially if you work a lot and have many commitments. If you have free time to relax, try your best to take advantage of it! I am going to focus on setting priorities straight and it honestly begins with a good night’s rest! If you guys haven’t already, check out some of my YouTube videos! I am learning more about video editing as I go and you guys will see more photos that are focused more on fashion than makeup as we head into November and the Holidays! I hope you guys have all been well, it’s great to be back! Stay stylish my friends! 🙂

Pumpkin Patch Dates and YouTube Videos…It Just Keeps Getting Better!

Every fall calls for a photo shoot in the pumpkin patch! This is exactly what I did Wednesday and I am going to be using the footage for a future video on what to wear on a Pumpkin Patch date.

I am going to release this video right after Halloween on perfect things to wear on a pumpkin patch date! I am going to show you my top three favorite outfits to wear to the pumpkin patch that are perfect for fall and practical for us southern girls who are still experiencing warm weather right now.

The video will hopefully be released on Nov. 1st which lands on a Wednesday.

I want my channel to release videos on Wednesdays every week. I couldn’t decide on a day so I figured I would just go for the day that lands right in the middle of the week. This is also the day where I have the most free time. I also got my friend Nikole Jackson to help me in this video. She is a beauty guru with her own YouTube channel and is really great at what she does so I highly recommend subscribing to her channel and following her on social media if you have not already! I will be putting her information at the end of my video so you guys can check out her work!

Here is a sneak peak of the 3 outfits that I filmed for this video.

As you probably noticed, all of these outfits have the color burgundy. This is definitely my go-to color for fall and my favorite color is red, so I naturally gravitated towards created these outfits and felt that the pumpkin patch really makes the outfits stand out.

Other colors I enjoy wearing for fall are emerald green, black and a plum purple. Would you guys be interested in seeing some outfits in these colors?

On a side note: I have released my Pocahontas video on my YouTube channel! I did a little more stuff with the editing and am still messing around with it. Let me know what you did and while you are there, be sure to subscribe to my channel! On my channel you’ll find fashion, some makeup, and some overall silliness.

My Pocahontas video is right below for you to watch. I have 4 subscribers already!

First Halloween Video Now Up!

My blog subscribers…

I have just uploaded my first YouTube video just now. By no means is it perfect. Yes, I think I sound like a 12-year-old when recorded, but go check it out!

I am still very new to all of this, but I would appreciate any type of feedback you guys can give me if you have experience with creating YouTube videos. I used Sony Vegas Pro to create this video and it took a lot of time to edit and teach myself how to make this video happen. I have noticed some mistakes already in the video (I apologize for that!) but I commented on the video to correct myself.

Enjoy it!

Outfits of the Week: Week 7

What a week it has been! So many things are happening in the world and I cannot help but feel pretty useless just watching the news on TV. We have the wildfires in California, we have many of our government officials in Puerto Rico trying to pick up what Maria left behind, we have the mourning from the Las Vegas shooting, and the Harvey Weinstein news that makes me sick. Then we have our own personal lives. Whether it’s work, school, relationships or setbacks, life is just happening and nothing is going to stop it. I could have easily curled up in a ball after enduring everything I saw on the news, hearing about my boyfriend’s car window being hit with a bb gun and needing to be replaced, getting frustrated at work, overwhelmed with homework and feeling like I may be spreading myself out too thin, but the quickest way for me to instantly feel better is the way that I dress.

I may be struggling and be under a lot of pressure, but as long as my outfit is okay, I will be too. Here are the outfits of the week!

Monday: Denim Vest: Thrifted, Tank top: Macy’s, Skirt: Charlotte Russe, Shoes: Dillards, brand is Gianni Bini

Resized_20171009_152728Resized_20171009_151928

Tuesday: I did not get to take a photo of my outfit since this is the day my boyfriend’s car window needed to be repaired. 😦

Wednesday’s Outfit: Pink lace blouse: Wetseal, Denim: Express, Boots: Dillards, brand is Gianni Bini

This blouse received a lot of compliments. I used to work at Wetseal and the company unfortunately went out of business about a year after I left. I have heard that they are coming back, but have not seen anything yet! It was one of my favorite stores and it will be missed greatly. I wear these jeans so much because the distress in them is subtle and the was is unique. The boots are a great fit for this outfit because I did not want to wear black shoes, but still needed a neutral shoe to go along with my outfit. These were perfect!

Thursday: Dress: Fashion Nova, Jacket: Love Culture, Boots: Boot Barn by Dan Post

I hope you guys have a great weekend and enjoyed these outfits 🙂

Outfits of The Week: Part 6

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog! It’s about that time where we reflect on the outfits worn this week so let’s get started!

Monday- This skeleton shirt is from Target and of course I was sporting a Halloween inspired shirt to kick off my week. Even though the weather here is all over the place, I am still trying to get into the Halloween spirit and get ready for fall. I paired this blouse with some faded purple pants and wore some grey shoes from Shoedazzle to top it all off.

MondayoutfitMondayoutfitcloseup

Tuesday- For Tuesday I wore a burgundy skirt, also from Target, and decided to pair it with black tights, boots and blouse. Since red is my favorite color, I decided that I would wear red lipstick and a red rose necklace that I got from Hottopic several years ago. The skirt is a soft suede material and I love that the studded pocket detail gives it a vintage-y look to it. The necklace also looks like it would have been worn in medieval times, while the rest of this outfit was kept pretty modern. This outfit was my favorite one from this whole week.

Wednesday- You know I love my high-waisted jeans from Fashion Nova. I wore high-waisted jeans by them on both Wednesday and Thursday because they are the best pants ever! I wanted to look put-together yet stay comfortable on this day so I wore some comfortable flats and layered a skull kimono I got from Hottopic, over a simple black tank-top. Still in that Halloween spirit!

Wednesday outfit leaningWednesdayoutfitskulls

Thursday- Thursday is usually my most casual day out of the week as far as outfits go because this is usually my longest day and I cannot afford to have any wardrobe malfunctions interfering me. Simple does not have to be boring though! Luckily bright colored tops with lace detail can save the day! Now-a-days even sneakers are fashionable. I love these sneakers from Steve Madden. I have also worn them in one of my previous ‘Outfits of the week’ blog posts so I’m sure they look very familiar.

Each week continues to fly by so fast! I am pleased to say that I am surviving my classes and slowly but surely learning how to edit videos. I am very excited to see things come together! Let me know which outfit was your favorite!

Have a great weekend and stay stylish!

Things To Come

I’ve really missed blogging on here on a daily basis, but I know that this change was necessary in order for me to continue to grow in my fashion endeavors. Today’s blog is going to be a simple update on my whereabouts and I am currently working my butt off with being a full-time student and part time employee, but these things all make me want to try harder at being great at what I do and what I want to do is share my enthusiasm for fashion with others who feel the same way that I do. I am expanding my horizons by learning how to film and edit videos, become more comfortable in front of the camera during photo shoots, and just generally be more involved. I am doing these things on top of work, homework and studying, but just because this is challenging, it does not mean that it is impossible.

video editing

These goals are difficult and yes, I find myself getting frustrated when things do not seem like they are going well and I feel like no progress is being made, but great things do not happen overnight. I am still trying my hardest to be patient.

I am in the process of trying to learn how to film and edit videos so that I can start my own YouTube channel that revolves around fashion and who knows, maybe makeup every once in a while. I am using Halloween as an opportunity to recreate some costumes and makeup looks and I am pretty much filming the process so I can show you guys. I am planning on doing a total of 4 or 5 different characters so as soon as the weather here gets a whole lot better, I will be doing many photo shoots and videos. I really hope it all comes together in the end and I really hope that this endeavor will take me far.

I am open to any advice or suggestions any of you guys have when it comes to photo shoots, filming or video editing, I am all ears and it’s much appreciated. This is all I have for you all for now, as soon as I get the first video up, I will let you all know!

Stay Stylish and Good Night!
