Removing Makeup. Easy As 1, 2, 3!

Long time no talk everyone! How are you? I’m happy to be back to blogging away and hopefully growing my blogging family. I enjoy hearing from you all and I have always wanted to know how you all remove your makeup. This idea kinda just popped into my head as I found myself removing my makeup not even 5 minutes ago. I know it’s still early, but I have been wearing my makeup all day and since I know that I am staying in tonight, I decided to let my skin breathe and remove my makeup a little earlier than usual.

If you’re anything like me, you actually enjoy putting makeup on, but dread the mess of washing it off.

I love taking my time to put on my makeup, but when it comes to removing it, I just want it to be very quick, effective, and easy to do. I use two different products to remove my makeup and then I use one product to help me moisturize.

Step 1: Make up Wipes

My go to makeup wipes are the Wondra Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes

These make up wipes will remove your eye makeup and not burn your eyes. There are 40 wipes included in each pack and these have really been the only makeup wipes that have truly worked out for me. I use these wipes first thing when removing my makeup and they are mainly put to use with removing my eye makeup only. wondra

2. For the rest of my face, I like to use a face wash that will not only remove my makeup but also exfoliate my skin. My go-to exfoliator is St. Ives Apricot Scrub

3. Now that all my makeup is removed, I put on a moisturizer. The one I really like to use is No. 7’s Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil

A little goes a long way with this product and it has been really useful after my skin has been drying out so much from the winter. This product also smells beautiful! It’s worth the price and will last you a long time.

Taking off makeup is something that I do every night. I rarely go a day without wearing any makeup to be completely honest, but I absolutely love makeup and I actually wake up every morning looking forward to putting it on. I have always dreaded the process of removing makeup, but I realized that it doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t have to have a crazy long “get unready with me” routine like all the famous YouTubers do. Removing makeup can seriously be easy as 1, 2, 3!

Don’t overthink things, and stay stylish!

5 Other Ways To Get Over A Bad Day/Setbacks

I left my house at 7:30 a.m. and came back home almost 12 hours later. I kept reflecting on my day and the more I thought of it, the more defeated I realized I felt. How could I wake up feeling so confident, yet feel so down within the same day? Many of you know that a lot can happen in a day. A LOT.

I am a whole lot better now because I realized that there is no use crying over spilled milk and that my setbacks will never ever, overpower my comebacks. Aside from the first 5 things I do to recover that you saw in my video, here are the other 5 ways to make your comeback stronger than any of your set backs. These are different than the first 5 because it now involves others rather than just yourself.

6. Take ownership of your mistake, but keep your dignity.

Oh man. That already sounds hard, but accidents happen! Sometimes our own setbacks happen because we mess up on our end. Maybe we missed a deadline or maybe we accidentally did or said something we shouldn’t have. Whatever happened, if you know you were in the wrong, take a deep breath and take ownership of your mistake. Address it, apologize, whatever it was…do not let pride prevent you from making things right. However, keep your dignity! Do not cry, beg or blame. Remain professional. You’re a sophisticated individual who is better than making a scene like a child. This is probably the hardest step out of the 5, but it is the first thing you need to do in order for the others to work out.

7. Clear Things Out

I mean this in various ways. First off, GET ORGANIZED. Clean out that desk at work, your room, your car, your purse and even your backpack if you’re a student. Sometimes mess in itself can cause us to be overwhelmed so get organized! Keep what you need, and toss what you don’t need. Secondly and more importantly, communication. Clear out what you have been holding inside. Just say it. If there was a big misunderstanding, make it known so that it is prevented again in the future.

8. Ask For Help

If you’re anything like me, you dread asking others for help. Maybe it’s because you feel like you’re interrupting them, or maybe you feel like they’ll think you’re dumb for asking a certain question, but you need to free yourself from those thoughts. In this life, we are all here to learn. Take it upon yourself to seek knowledge. Everyone benefits in the end.

9. Don’t Be Close Minded

I know that the public can sometimes have rocky relationships with the media, but I want you to think of a journalist for a moment. Journalist often have to report stories and try their best to capture both sides of the story. A good journalist is able to do this fine, but a great journalist is able to do this in a way that both sides have a clear voice in the story and neither one of those voices is the journalist! What I’m saying is, to be neutral. Do not judge and pick sides, especially in the work place! Hear others out and try to understand them. This also ties into seeking knowledge. Know when to be a team player and when it’s best to remain neutral.

10. Get Involved.

Listen here, we can all say those four words, “I don’t have time,” but it’s a fact that we can always make time for things that need to get done. Like work, school, homework and all that serious stuff, but don’t forget about the things that make you happy! The things that you naturally gravitate towards. For me, it’s fashion blogging. If I had the “I don’t have time,” mentality, I would not be writing this and I would not be making YouTube videos or have my fashion account on Instagram. I also would have never gotten over my camera shyness! Or gotten the chance to meet interesting people and I know that I probably wouldn’t be anywhere near as happy right now. By doing what you love, you will find yourself getting involved in a community of like-minded individuals who will give you advice, support you and even be friends with! In the process, you may even learn more things about yourself.

Alrighty everyone, I hope that my video and blog motivate you on your own recovery process of going through a bad day. Just remember that your mistakes do not define who you are. Just like my statement in the beginning of my video says, you know who you are. Life is full of setbacks. There are going to be days where the world acts like it’s against you and nothing is going according to plan, but that shouldn’t leave you defeated forever. Life is hard, but that fact shouldn’t stop you from living it!

Keep going and stay stylish.

New Video & 2018 So Far

Hello everyone,

I am writing to you all today in a freezing office and with another cough drop in my mouth. Yesterday morning I woke up with the back of my head throbbing and found that to be very peculiar. I remember rising up from my bed to take a drink of water and realizing that my throat felt odd. I pretty much spent all day yesterday in bed and was probably asleep most of the time. The only productive thing that I did was edit my latest YouTube video which is now up on my channel. Originally I was going to do a voice over in this video, but with my voice sounding super ridiculous right now, I refrained from that idea and decided to put some music in the background instead.

I was originally going to continue my closet series with my skirts, but it’s been so cold  everywhere that I decided to do a scarf video instead! I wear all of my scarfs differently which you will see in this video. I feature all my scarfs and the different ways that I like to tie and wear them!

2018 has started off on a sick note, but I am trying not to let this prevent me from working on what I want to accomplish! I also want to thank anyone who has subscribed to my YouTube channel. I have 24 followers now! I can’t wait to see that family grow. I also want to thank all 72 of you that have subscribed to my blog and have allowed me to vent about things and gush about others! To anyone feeling sick since we are in flu season, I pray for you to get healthy soon. Keep washing your hands, cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze, stay hydrated, and call into work if you must! Get your rest and watch my latest YouTube video and be sure to check out my other videos as well and subscribe to my channel!

My Red Hair! Updated Facts About My Hair Care Routine And YouTube Channel!

I love fashion. I love the fact that it makes me feel so much more confident when I walk out knowing that I look good. Just being honest! I always loved being able to let others know about where I got my clothing or accessories from and even given fashion advice when I worked retail. Since dyeing my hair red, my outfits started to not be the only thing that people were asking about. Although my main focus is my fashion, I couldn’t ignore the fact that many people were asking about my hair color, so…..

I have a video on my YouTube channel so that you can see what my hair stylist does in order to achieve my red hair color! It is a process, and I am going to be honest about everything, so if you are interested, give it a watch! Below is a link to my YouTube channel so you can subscribe to me and turn on your notifications so that you are aware about my videos the second I put it on there!

In the meantime, here are some helpful tips on how to maintain red hair!

1. A Good Color-Treated Shampoo AND Conditioner 20171205_202844

Vibrant Sexy Hair is the shampoo and conditioner that I have been using and it is a keeper. I got mines at ULTA beauty and this shampoo keeps my hair color lasting the longest. Even my hairstylist told me that my roots were hardly showing! I get my hair touched up every 8 weeks. The product’s color is white and it smells like a field of roses!

2.  Refrain From Washing Your Hair Every Day.

I know, I know, I know. This may be gross to some of you, but I remember training my hair to not get so oily so fast for an entire year before coloring it red. If you’re like me, not washing your hair every day can seem like a deal breaker, but it’s beneficial to your hair to absorb natural oils that you need. Start by only washing your hair every other day. It does take getting used to, but luckily there is a great, inexpensive dry shampoo that works really well! The one that I currently use is Dove’s Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo.

This dry shampoo is still my favorite! I have tried Panteen’s, Clean Freak, L’Oreal’s, and so many others, but none of them do the job like Dove’s for me!

3. Get A Good Hair Serum

20171205_205723.jpg

A lot of us who go to the salon know that when our hairstylist washes our hair, it looks so shiny and silky smooth…but when YOU wash it, it just doesn’t look the same! UGH! I know that when I started coloring my hair, my hair started losing its shine, but with a good hair serum, you can still get that salon shine and it will also help the  tips of your hair from breaking after all that styling. The one my hair stylist used on me during my salon visit is Mom’s Neurishing Oil Treatment. Another great one that you can find at the store is OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum. It smells and feels so great!

4. Allow Your Hair To Air Dry & Do Not Comb It Right Away.

This may be a little more personal for me, but I always air dry because I style my hair a lot and I like for my hair to have a break from that so I always wash my hair the night before about 3 hours before bedtime. I also do not comb my hair right away after getting out of the shower. I lightly soak up the excess water with my towel and wait until 2 hours after stepping out to comb it. I noticed that when my hair is still very wet, that brushing it also brushes off more of my hair dye. However, brushing my hair when damp to dry does not remove more of my hair dye.

5. Wear Hats!

Okay, so we know that another way to not have greasy looking hair without the help of dry shampoo, is also with the help of a hat. It’s getting closer to winter so I am walking out in my beanies and I am so excited! I love hats! Another reason to keep hats in mind is to protect your hair from fading. The sun’s rays can fade your red hair, so be mindful of this if you have red hair, but you’re going to be outdoors for a long period of time.

These are the most recent tips and products that I use so I hope you enjoyed reading about it. Without further ado, check out my YouTube channel and click on the first video on there which is all about my red hair!
